Solar (PV Array) Simulation - Available for all power levels (36 kW up to 1.32MW+)

Recently, Anderson Electric Controls added PV Array Simulation capabilities to its line of high performance power supplies. This simulation add-on allows AC2000P series power supplies to emulate programmable characteristics of PV arrays under both static and dynamic conditions. As you would expect from AEC, the simulation package is tightly integrated into the existing driver framework in order to allow automated testing and data gathering with minimal development commitments. To engineer this simulation package we worked with industry leaders in solar inverter technology to make sure this package fits the needs of solar inverter developers.

This simulation package was designed to facilitate solar inverter testing based on the standards defined in the Sandia National Laboratories Performance Test Protocol for Solar Inverters.

Solar Simulation Features Include:
  • High bandwidth dynamic simulation (PV algorithms executed at 18 kHz)
  • On-the-fly adjustable setpoints for irradiance, temperature, and all panel parameters
  • Supports temperature-dependant panel parameters
  • Table-based profiles allow operators to easily define dynamic simulation conditions
  • Synchronized data gathering (useful for post-test inverter validation or "digital scope" functionality)
  • Up to 12 programmable channels are available with synchronized data gathering (gather rates up to 18 kHz)
  • Get started quickly with Solar Simulation using the AC2000P local touchscreen for manual control
  • All solar simulation features accessible through remote driver (for LabVIEW, .NET, C, C++, etc.)
